
Paul R. Warner
Teaching has given me an appreciation for the life lived by the Savior and the type of life He desires that His disciples live. Studying and feeling the scriptures on-site makes for spiritually significant experiences in the life of all Latter‑day Saints.
Paul R. Warner was raised in Evanston, Wyoming. He received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in Political Science and then was a high school seminary teacher from 1965 to 1968 in Ogden, Utah. At the end of 1968, he was offered a position as Director of the institutes adjacent to Los Angeles State and Long Beach State colleges. He returned to Provo in 1971 to work as the Supervisor of teacher training for the Seminaries and Institutes of Religion Program at BYU. During this time he received his Doctorate in Educational Administration from BYU.
In 1975 he worked as Supervisor of the seminaries in Utah Valley, and in 1981 he became Director of pre‑service training at BYU. He was an instructor at the Orem Institute of Religion from 1987 to March 1991, when he became the Manager of training for the Corporation of the President of the LDS Church. He accepted an assignment with BYU Development as an Associate Director of leadership gifts, and then became Director of student leadership services under the division of Student Life. He was called as the BYU Chaplain and Director of the Student Athlete Center in 1999. He served there for three years before joining the BYU Religious Education faculty and continuing his service as Chaplain.
In the Church, Brother Warner has served as a Branch President, Stake MIA Superintendent, Bishop, Branch President at the Language Training Mission (now the Missionary Training Center), counselor in a Stake Presidency, High Councilor,
He is married to Karen Kuehne Warner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They have six children.
