Day 1: Wednesday, Oct 7

Home City - Boston, MA

This morning we board our flight for our memorable Fall Foliage Church History tour to celebrate the 200th First Vision Anniversary. We see our first view of the spectacular fall colors as we arrive in Boston late afternoon. We get acquainted with our group at dinner. Accommodations at the Fairfield by Marriott. (D)

Day 2: Thursday, Oct 8

Lexington - Concord- West Lebanon, NH

Our first stop today will be Bunker Hill. The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17, 1775, just a few months after the start of the American Revolutionary War. Next we relive the first moments of the Revolutionary War and see the place where the shot was fired that was “heard around the world”. We travel the Battle Road, stopping at various points, and even see where Paul Revere was captured by the British. You will come to know Lexington and Concord, and understand those events which brought about the Independence of this great nation. Accommodations at the Fireside Inn in West Lebanon, NH. (B,D)

Day 3: Friday, Oct 9

Sharon, VT - Tunbridge, VT - Saratoga Springs, NY

Today our tour begins at the Joseph Smith Memorial in Sharon, Vermont. Joseph Smith was born in the township of Sharon on December 23, 1805. We visit the LDS Visitor’s Center and see the unique granite monument, one of the largest in the world, marking his birthplace. Next, we visit Tunbridge, Vermont, which was the first home of Joseph and Lucy Smith. Throughout the day we see the beautiful Vermont foliage and their famous covered bridges as we learn of the early years of the prophet. Day 4: Saturday, Oct 10

Priesthood Restoration Site, PA - Binghamton, NY

Today we travel to the new Priesthood Restoration site in Susquehanna County, PA. We see the visitor’s center, the reconstructed homes of Joseph and Emma Smith and Isaac and Elizabeth Hale, the woods where John the Baptist restored the priesthood, the new statuaries, and the baptismal site at the Susquehanna River. Accommodations are at the Courtyard by Marriott in Binghamton, NY. (B,D)

Day 5: Sunday, Oct 11

Fayette, NY - Palmyra, NY

Early this morning we travel to Fayette, NY to attend Sacrament meeting and to visit the Peter Whitmer Farm where the Church was organized on April 6, 1830. Next, we visit the Grandin Building where the Book of Mormon was published, then the grave site of Alvin Smith, Joseph Smith’s eldest brother. Following lunch, we see the Sacred Grove and reflect on the special events that took place here. We also visit the restored Joseph Smith, Sr., farm including the log cabin where Moroni first appeared to Joseph Smith. We finish our day at Hill Cumorah. Accommodations are at the Palmyra Inn. Day 6: Monday, Oct 12

Mendon, NY - Niagara Falls, NY - Kirtland, OH

Today we review the missionary labors of Samuel Smith as we make a brief stop in Mendon, NY. We continue our journey to Niagara Falls, the oldest state park in the USA. We board the Maid of the Mist boat which passes directly in front of the falls and enters Horseshoe Basin. This is a fun activity not to be missed! After free time for lunch and shopping, we travel to Kirtland, OH. Accommodations for two nights are at the Holiday Inn. (B,D)

Day 7: Tuesday, Oct 13

Kirtland, OH

Today we visit the Kirtland Temple where The Lord Himself appeared as did Moses, Elias, Elijah, and numerous other angels. Next, we see the Temple Quarry and have a picnic lunch. We spend the afternoon visiting the Morley Farm and the historic Kirtland village including the Church’s Visitor’ s Center, Whitney Home and Store, Johnson Inn, Ashery, and Sawmill. (B,L,D)

Day 8: Wednesday, Oct 14

Hiram, OH - Home City

We depart this morning for Hiram, OH to visit the John Johnson Farm. It was at the Johnson farm that Joseph Smith received the vision of the three degrees of glory. We conclude our tour with a late afternoon flight home and a better appreciation for the life of the Prophet Joseph and the early saints. (B)
