For over fifty years BYU Travel Study was the leading provider of educational travel for LDS Church members. Founded after BYU closed this department, LDS Travel Study continues to provide LDS tours to worldwide destinations.  We specialize in LDS guided tours to the Lands of the Book of Mormon, Church History sites, Holy Land and destinations Beyond.

Our tours are all-inclusive.  We know that you want to enjoy your tour without having to worry about the little details.  Each tour itinerary specifies all that is included (airfare, hotel accommodations, motor coach transportation, headsets, tips, taxes, meals, group travel insurance, etc.).  There are no hidden costs to you and this will give you peace of mind as you travel with us.  We invite you to review our featured tours and destinations.

Our tours are enhanced by experienced tour directors who will bring their insight and knowledge to the areas we visit and each tour is limited to one busload of passengers, thus allowing you to enjoy a more personable experience when traveling.  We welcome individuals, families and other groups to join us on our tours.  To view the tours month-by- month, browse our calendar.

We are happy to help answer any questions, some of which can be answered on our FAQ page.  Please contact us for additional information, to sign-up for a tour or to be added to our mailing list.  You can also subscribe to our email newsletter for updates on new tours, special promotions and upcoming events.

We look forward to providing you and your travel companions with the most diverse and enjoyable travel experience found anywhere.  Here at LDS Travel Study, we strive to exceed your expectations in offering you the most educational, spiritual and memorable tours available.

Tour Directors

Many of our Tour Directors are current or retired teachers from various BYU departments, the LDS Church Education System and had previously directed tours for BYU Travel Study.

All of our directors have lived abroad or taught in foreign study programs, giving them special insight into local customs and traditions. Many of them also speak the language of their respective destination, bridging the barrier to local people and their culture. This intimate knowledge of destinations enables our directors to expand the understanding of tour participants beyond their expectations.

Lands of the Book of Mormon
Central America seems to be the most logical location for most of the events recorded in the Book of Mormon. Each of our Central America tour packages explores connections between ancient Mesoamerica habitations and the scriptures. Central American geography, climate, and names are similar to those found in the Book of Mormon.  Physical remains are found in great abundance which date to the time period of the Book of Mormon. These lands are the only areas discovered in the Americas that have a pre-Columbian written language with cultural remnants that appear to fit this book of scripture.

Church History

Church history tours offer an obvious connection to the Doctrine and Covenants and the writings of modern prophets. LDS Travel Study offers not only longer and more comprehensive tours than most competitors, but also provides intensive learning programs in New York, Ohio, and Illinois.

Holy Land
The Holy Land is not only the land of the Old and New Testament, but also the beginning of the Book of Mormon. Tours to the Holy Land augment your study of the Doctrine and Covenants because of the many Bible-related statements and revelations contained therein. Two of the three main books in the Pearl of Great Price are based in or near the Holy Land.
Our Holy Land tours include traditional sites with both spiritual and historical ties. Visitors will be introduced to areas where Jesus of Nazareth and the early prophets and apostles established modern Christianity, such as the Sea of Galilee, Golgotha, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, the River Jordan, Nazareth, Bethlehem, and many other places in the region. The interesting mix of ancient and modern life will amaze visitors to The Holy Land.

And Beyond

We offer a host of travel study tours to parts of the world beyond the categories listed above. These focus on secular and religious history. The cultural, historical, and geographical dimensions of each destination are explored along the way.
